The more Yui inspected the trap, the more interesting and overall impressive she found it. She nodded to the joke Amanda made. "Fair enough," She more or less mumbled with a shrug.
After she had her fill of going over the reverse bear trap, the mannequin head was pushed back a bit, just to make sure it would tip over by a careless arm. "Maybe not built to last or exactly recyclable," She joked a bit, offering the brunette a trace of a smile. "But still easy to get caught on something." The statement made sense in her mind, easy to get snagged, maybe a wire cut would cause the trap to malfunction. Maybe a flip of a coin chance it would snap immediately or wouldn't snap at all.
Yui, while finding what Amanda said about the timer odd, she didn't prod. It wasn't her business to dabble in.
"I, uh," She rubbed the back of her neck a bit nervously. "I'd like to see how it's built, from scratch. Not now, I mean, though." Yui probably sounded like a fool, at least she thought she did. Asking to come back while the other probably wanted her long gone and out of her hair. She looked back up at Amanda with an eyebrow raised, awaiting any sort of response, bad as it may be and as Yui expected it to be.
The chill mist that settled over the area caught hold of Yui's heart. It was an odd feeling to say the least, urging the woman forward with tredging steps.
She paused in her tracks, gazing into what seemed to be an embodiment of melancholy itself, The Fog. And she went forward. She walked with squelching footsteps on twigs and mud and the few loose stones that Yui had noticed.
It didn't seem much to the woman at first, a few stones, nothing more, nothing less. The little pebbles were kicked beneath her well-worn racing boots, soiled by the endless amounts of mud in the Entity's realm.
This small distraction was what kept her mind off aching legs as the mist urged her forward, seemingly endlessly. That was until a smell invaded every crevice of her senses. The smell of blood and gore and rot. Yui was by far used to the smell of blood by now, she had to be to survive here. But this seemed off, in a way she couldn't yet describe. Her gaze drifted upwards and she had finally discovered where exactly the mist had taken her.
The Gideon Meat Packing Plant, or at the very least, the outskirts of the giant factory. And just as suddenly as the small pebbles had caught Yui's interest, she couldn't care any less for them, and so she moved forward in the realm.
Tinkering, tinkering, tinkering. What else was there to do in the Realm? Think about John, Adam? What was the use in that? Her time was spent building reverse bear traps, disassembling them, and then roaming around the meatpacking plant to create new traps that would be left in this version of the plant due to the fact that they "didn't play by the Entity's rules". She'd told Amanda that she'd have to toss her traps into fire to use them... It seemed unfair.
But traps weren't necessary anymore, anyone that was here was unworthy of life and could never be given a second chance. Not that she'd bothered thus far to know anyone, or anything about them to know if they would ever be worth a second chance (in John's eyes, not hers.) They're in an eternal trial, it seemed. Just because there were moments of downtime didn't mean that it wasn't still a test in itself, in Amanda's eyes. It felt like she was being given a taste of her own cruel medicine, since there was no escaping from this, or ever a chance to.
Amanda had been thankful for silence so far. No one but the Entity spoke to her, no one bothered her or ordered her around anymore. Spending her days on the lower floors of the packaging plant. Staying close to where she woke up. It was safe, comforting in its own fucked up way. Now there's a weird tugging feeling. Like she knew someone was here, why? Who would come to see her? How did someone come to visit her?
With an uncomfortably heavy sigh, she grabs the hatchet that sat on a table, with the remains of the life she had before it was amongst all of the hooks, and all of the things that would have been good for creating traps. She almost missed it. Keyword, almost. Mostly because there wasn't much to do these days. Still, now there was something that was in the meat packaging plant. Something, someone. She began the slow stalk up the stairs, waiting for a fight. She expects it, almost wishing she had grabbed the Pig mask. She didn't like the thought of attacking someone while they were able to see her face, unless they were already completely vulnerable and going to die anyway.
If Yui were being honest with herself, she wasn't exactly sure what to expect as she moved across this terrain. If she were to be frightened or curious. The latter prevailed, it seemed. Of course, Yui was cautious as she took light steps through the Realm.
As of now, she'd only heard rumors of this Realm's occupant, and even then, they were obsured by opinion rather than matter of fact. The Pig, as she'd heard described by a few other Survivors, was cruel and ruthless. That seemed to be the case with all of them. And that seemed to peak her interest even more, a feeling she'd believed she wouldn't feel again since entering this Hell. It was almost relieving to feel something different. Anything other than the dread-filled adrenaline that came with the start of a trial was a gift that Yui welcomed with open arms.
The longer the woman was in this Realm, the more off it felt. If Yui were to guess, she would've predicted that she'd come face to face with the Realm's occupant much sooner than now. That was what seemed to throw her off, rather than the putrid scent that still wavered through the air or the blood that stained the ground. The complete emptiness, no hooks, no generators, nothing.
Oddly enough, it wasn't the lack of hooks that gave her relief, but rather the lack of generators. Every Survivor knew how to fix them, yet it was the only thing Yui could understand about the Entity's Realm. It was quite humiliating, almost, mechanics and racing was what she put her entire life on the line for, and where did it end her? Stuck in Hell where the only solace the woman had, the only thing she had that she stood out for seemed to be common knowledge here. But that was just her own petty thinking, for now, all Yui had to figure out was where The Pig was and how she could get back to the Campfire.
Up the stairs, she heard footsteps. Why couldn't the Entity just be fucking with her? Was that too much to ask for, an eternity of alone time? Apparently so.
"Hellooo?" Amanda called out, holding the axe by her side. The decision in her mind was made, she wouldn't use it unless it was entirely necessary. Self-defense, etc, that was the plan. Hopefully, she could stick to it... Thinking about it, this was probably the most she'd traveled through the plant at this point. Of course, aside from when she was "alive", for lack of better wording. Her stalking stopped as she caught the sight of blonde hair "Hey!" She called out, stomping around the corner to put herself in full view to the other woman. She wasn't very threatening outside of the hatchet. Five-foot-two, the red t-shirt, separate cotton sleeves, and cargo pants.
"Who the hell are you?" Amanda demanded, looking the other up and down. How had she even gotten in? The doors were locked, weren't they? She assumed they were... Maybe that one was on her. "Actually, more important than that, how the fuck did you get in here?" There were other people, she knew that much, but not here. Not in her space.
Some part of her wondered if she was "new", though. Maybe she was afraid like Amanda had been... No, that didn't matter. The woman was invading Amanda's space, and she needed to get out. Simple as that. It wasn't her business to play mama bird to some rando who she had nothing to do with, and likely wouldn't deserve it anyway.
Yui's footsteps came to a quick hault as a woman's voice rang out in the plant. Her gaze darted around the rusty walls that surrounded her, desperate to find the source of the voice.
The sleeve of a red shirt was what first caught Yui's eyes, watching a shorter woman emerge from the shadows. The glinting of a metal hatchet followed the other, brown eyes widening at the sight. She took a step back, holding her hands up in a sign of surrender, hoping the other woman would get the message.
"Of course she speaks English,' Yui thought to herself, her lips tightened to a thin line as she tried to quickly process the right words to say. "I," 'Fuck what's the word,' "I went with- The Fog, and came here," She spoke after a moment. 'Close enough,' She let out an interal sigh of relief, she got her message out in something that at least resembled cohesiveness.
Yui didn't dare tear her eyes away from the shorter woman in fear that her hatchet would be buried in her skull. Her mind raced, heart racing even faster, so she took a second step back from the other. The only thing that Yui thought she could do in this moment.
Amanda couldn't help rudely snorting when the girl's hands shot up as a sign of peace. She hadn't expected it, so the action solidified her decision to not use the hatchet. The other seemed to be entirely harmless. A hatchet was overkill.
"Hmm... The Fog just... Brought you here?" Amanda understood the other girl fine. No need to try to pry out further explanation. Amanda scanned the area -- looking for where she might have come from. The upper floor was much more open than the lower one. Rudely, she walked away from the blonde so that she could check the door from a distance. The Fog bringing her here explained how she got in without making much noise and without a door opening.
"And it won't just take you back out?" She had to try and ask. Maybe she'd just... Poof! Amanda would never be so lucky, though. It was a nice thought to be able go back to her solitude.
"You also never did answer me, who are you?" She wasn't in the mood of picking a looks based nickname. 'Girl in the pink jacket'? Not too catchy. She wasn't exactly clever with that kind of thing so... Better off to not try.
The woman's hands lowered back to her sides as the other spoke again. She couldn't help the quiet sigh of relief that escaped her lips as the other walked from her offensive stance.
"Yui," She spoke after a few seconds were spent to process what the woman had said. Yui would be the first to admit that English was a pain in her ass to learn, but it was coming along, slowly but surely.
She let her gaze drift away from the other woman and to the rest of the spatious floor. The room definitely wasn't a sight to behold, but it was better than being stuck in the endless Fog. Maybe at some point, whether in the past, before the Entity claimed this place, or the future, if that were an even viable thought to be had, the meat packing plant could've been homely. An odd thought to her.
Yui drew a breath in before she spoke again, building herself back to the strong stance so many before this Purgatory knew her for. "And you?" The same question was shot back to the other woman. She was aware she was invading the other's privacy and that she'd try to apologize for, but the moment the words left her mouth she'd wished she never said them in the first place.
She had more than likely overstepped her boundaries.
The relief from the other, Yui, hadn't gone unnoticed. It made her feel good that she knew she could threaten the other, that it wasn't a situation where it'd be a hard fight to win because she simply had no intimidation factor. Still, she put the hatchet down on the nearest table, away from the two of them. What use was being hostile? She was stuck here just as much as Amanda.
"Yui." She repeated softly, this was her first human interaction in a long, long time... The last real interaction she had was probably with Adam, him calling her a rockstar... Before everything got to it's boiling point.
Shaking her head to push the thought away, she leaned against the cool metal. "Amanda. Usually I have a whole pig mask..." Waving her hand in front of her face for emphasis. "Don't know what I'm here for, though." Spoken as if the Entity's realm worked like one of Jigsaw's traps. Like it was intended to make sense in some way... Like there was a way to escape, or you were meant to succeed. That was definitely not the case, but Amanda couldn't fathom anything else.
"Good to meet you, Amanda," Yui spoke up again, offering at least some semblance of a smile to the other woman. She allowed herself a quiet chuckle that remained under her breath at the wave of Amanda's hand. The notion may have been just as emphasis, but the humor behind it was well appreciated and welcomed in the undoubtedly tense air.
The woman visibly relaxed at the sight of the other laying down her weapon, shoulders lowering. "Same for me," She nodded in accordance to the latter statement. For all that she could consider, Yui couldn't begin to ponder the reason she of all people had been taken here. Maybe it wasn't something she was meant to know yet. Still, something about how Amanda had leaned back gave Yui the sense of security that she needed then, that for once, she wasn't going to be fearing for her life, as she did during trials. As far as she could see, or rather, cared to see, she couldn't figure out an ulterior motive that Amanda would use to give Yui a false sense of security, or anything of the like.
Amanda appreciated hearing the girl's chuckle. It was a comfort in the tenseness of the moment. "You too." Amanda shifted uncomfortably, rubbing her wrist as she glanced around the room. She knew the place well, it wasn't like she was looking for a way out. She knew every exit, even without The Entitys help. The Entity just whispered into her ear about it now. It was such a wonder why either of the women was here, what did the Entity want? Amanda understood why she was here - this was her eternal punishment for... Everything. But what could the blonde before her have ever done? Actually, she shouldn't wonder. People could surprise you. People who seem innocent on the outside could be the cruelest people you'd ever met, or the most disgusting.
Brushing those thoughts from her mind before she got to the point of testing the theoretical people in her mind, she fidgeted with the hem of her t-shirt. She was no good at small talk. "So..." She started, all the words dying in her mouth as she tried to formulate them. 'The weather, huh?' isn't a conversation starter that worked anymore... 'This band sucks, right?' also doesn't work. "You really have no idea how you ended up here?" Whether Yui answered for the Meat Packaging Plant, or the Realm she didn't care. It was just noise, something to fill the space and time right now. Until the Entity was either pleased, or one of the two of them got bored and decided to go their own ways.
Maybe she would offer the other a place to sit, eventually. She had chairs in her 'office' area. Stools. They weren't comfortable but they worked.
She shook her head, turning her gaze away from the brunette before her, trying to put together a response. "No..." She started, debating for a split second if it was really worth the effort to open up to the girl. She decided that it was worth a shot to. "Before all this, I was a street racer," Yui continued. "I was in the biggest race I'd been in yet, then in the middle, I was here," A longing smile graced her features at what was now a distant memory. She hated the thought that more than likely, she'd never feel that pure adrenaline rushing through her veins or the wind that blew through her hair racing down the streets of Japan, but it was something she'd have to come to terms with.
Just as suddenly as the expression plastered itself on her face, it turned back down, almost as if coming back to reality. Her head turned back to Amanda. "What about you-?" She quickly corrected herself, eyes widening just slightly at her mistake. "-If it's something you'd want to talk about," She raised an eyebrow, averting her gaze back to the dull ground below the two.
If Yui were honest with herself, conversations were never her strongest asset, especially in a language she was still learning. She wondered if it was even worth her breath to speak with the brunette, but she still wanted to try. She actually hoped maybe something she'd consider a friend would come from this encounter if she gave it a chance and kept the conversation going.
Amanda grinned softly, learning that the other had been a street racer. Cool. Yui turned out to be more tolerable than she'd expected. It was...Nice to interact, and hear another person speak. "That's cool. The race, I mean... Not... Ending up here," She offered, kind of stilted. She wasn't good with comfort or speaking. The last few years of her life were spent not talking to anyone but setting them up in death traps. "I take it you enjoyed racing?" Maybe that was too far of a question, but she wanted to hear more about it. She'd had a bike before her first run-in with Jigsaw. It'd gotten sold at some point, whether if it was when she relapsed and needed money, or she just decided she wasn't using it enough. Either way. She was interested in hearing about the other's racing.
The returned question made her fidget, cutting through the thoughts of her bike. "It's only fair I answer. I was holding a doctor hostage to care for someone I thought cared about me. Then her husband shot me in the throat... And I woke up here." She gestured to the meat plant. "Basically, I killed people. Not quite as fun as being a street racer." She wished she had more of a problem admitting that. But it was true, there would be no reason to lie. Even if she did cut out her Jigsaw involvement, she would still be a drug addict who was willing to rob a woman who'd been good to her.
"You're free to ask anything." Amanda kind of assumed that Yui would have questions at the basic admission of 'I killed a lot of people'. Then again, maybe it wasn't the weirdest thing that happened in the Realm. She hadn't quite figured that out yet. Didn't care to.
Yui didn't answer immediately, rather taking in what was said. It wasn't exactly the fact of how calmly Amanda admitted to what she'd done before the Fog, but rather how she could be gentle. For what she could recall, the other had shown kindness and acceptance, save for how she had first presented herself. That was on her, though, she invaded the other's space. It was quite baffling to her and she wasn't exactly sure of what questions to ask.
"You're right about the racing part. I gave up everything to do it, taught myself mechanics, and here we are." The statement took a few seconds to get out fully, whether it was her deciding on the right things to say or translating the words in her mind.
Mechanics was one of the few things that she knew like the back of her hand. What she lacked in social skills, which she'd be the first in line to admit was a lot, she believed she made up for in her work.
She looked back up at the other, strangely, someone who's only purpose was to kill her, made her feel more secure than the few others she'd encountered. "But...You can ask me anything, about racing, I mean," Yui offered, in truth, she felt a bit silly saying something like that. She wasn't fully sure of what else she could say, or even ask the brunette. Something was better than an awkward silence, even the tense air.
Amanda was surprised that she wasn't bombarded with questions — it was almost concerning. Almost. She didn't really care, maybe the girl had seen things much more gruesome in... Street racing. She tilted her head, "You gave up everything for it?" Yui must have really loved what she did... Amanda felt envious, to have something you love so much taken from under you. After you give everything up for it... She had no idea what that was like, she thought she liked her work for Jigsaw. In reality, it was just manipulation from John, thinking she was worthy of being saved.
"I'm a bit of a mechanic myself," Amanda made a soft joke. Really, it was a cruel joke. She'd reverse engineered the trap that Jigsaw used on her first. Maybe if John had died, and she lived, she could have moved on and become a mechanic.
Maybe she could have had a normal life. The thought made her chest ache.
Running her hand down her arm, into a stretch while she thought about questions to ask. "You win a lot? Races, I mean. Not money." She didn't care about the prizes, assuming there was any? She didn't know anything about street racing. Maybe she just sounded stupid now.
"I'd rather not get too far into that, if that's okay." Yui answered in a hushed tone, fidgetting with the sleeve of her jacket. The thoughts and memories of what she'd given up to pursue her racing were anything but pleasant, rather shameful, but contrary to those, the racing itself was much, much better to think about. "But yes, I'm not much for boasting, but I did win a good few," She nodded. She appreciated Amanda's interest, or at least her pretending to be interested in her racing.
"You said you're a mechanic, though?" She raised an eyebrow. The statement, despite it's joking undertone, caught Yui's interest. She wanted to know more about what Amanda worked on and what she built, but she didn't want to interrogate the other. Her curiosity got the best of her, however, and she drew in a breath before she asked the question that'd been scratching at the back of her mind.
"What have you been working on here?" She asked after a few seconds, assuming that the other had actually continued to build in the Realm. The question was a long shot, but it was interesting to her, Amanda before had her attention, but now she had her interest.
Yui was aware that the question may have overstepped what the other was willing to tell, but nonetheless, she wanted to know more.
Amanda held her hands up,letting that part of the conversation drop. Wasn't her business. She took it as a pretty big sacrifice to be happy. It was what she could assume, anyways. "Boast if you want to. You could even lie to me, what would I know?" Amanda teased, never one to be modest herself. When she accomplished something (that got rarer and rarer as she got older) she would tell anyone who'd listen, and even exaggerate about it.
"Er, something of one at least. I didn't go to school, or anything. Learned on the job." That was a horrible turn of phrase. She tilted her head, "Well." She started, trying to figure out if it'd freak Yui out too much to see the Reverse Bear Traps, or if it didn't matter. She grabbed the hatchet, putting the handle out for Yui. "Here, in case you don't like what you see. Since I don't know how to explain it." The thought of calling herself a 'death mechanic' came to mind, but likely Yui wouldn't find it as funny as Amanda does.
With the wave of a hand, beckoning the other to follow, Amanda headed back towards the stairs to the lower level.
Yui eyed the hatchet a moment with a puzzled expression before she wrapped a hand around it's handle, taking it from the other. She was wary about what Amanda meant by 'in case you don't like what you see', but she didn't question it, hoping that would be answered shortly.
She didn't admit it right away, but she truly did appreciate th other's humor. "I guess- I was pretty well known back home, in Japan, because of all I won," She offered with a small grin, hoping she didn't come off too cocky.
Yui was in the situation as Amanda, she never went to any schooling for racing or mechanics. Everything she knew was either learned as she got older or from the books from her grandparents. What she wouldn't give to be back there.
She followed closely behind the other, letting the hatchet clutched in her hand hang by her side. Yui wouldn't lie, she was excited to see just what Amanda referred to, presumably something mechanical. She kept her eyes on the stairwell, expression lightening just a bit as the smell of oil and metal, a scent she was very much used to and found comfort in, filled her senses.
The thought crossed Amanda's mind of what would even happen if Yui attacked her. Amanda could fight back, easy. There were a whole bunch of weapons for her in the meat packing plant. She didn't necessarily care, though. Whatever happened if you 'died' in the realm, she wouldn't care one way another if she found out, or not.
"Nice. Impressive, I'm in the company of a star, I see." Amanda's wit came easy, of course. It was one thing she had, she couldn't say the right comforting thing at the right time but she'd always have a smartass comment at the ready. That's kind of what came from hanging out with the kind of people she did, though. Always ready to crack wise to lighten an unnecessarily heavy situation.
Leading the, now armed, woman to her tools. Screws and other tools strewn about, a mannequin head sat on her desk, a contraption on it. With a gesture, "I've been told in the past to think of it as something akin to a 'Reverse Bear Trap'," There was a large amount of unexpected vitriol in her voice as she repeated what Jigsaw had once told her. Vitriol for John, for the trap. Maybe that's why she'd inflict it on others. Someone else had to suffer through what she had, and suffering would never be over.
Over, and over someone would be in Amanda's position, even if they didn't deserve it like she believed she had. It was a cycle that would end someday, but not with her.
"It works about how you expect. Take too long to get the key and..." SNAP. She clapped loudly, it echoed around the room. It was supposed to mimic the snapping of the 'bear trap'. Really, she could have manually set the trap off but there was still work to be done on it to set it off without waiting for the timer. It was hooked to a chain, and when unhooked from the chain it would start the timer.
She wanted to make it so that when the chain was taken off, it would snap instantly. In case she ever needed it.
Yui raised a hand to her lips, stifling a light laugh from Amanda's joking remark. "In that case, I may as well give you an autograph," She retorted back in a playful tone, shooting a wink to the brunette.
Her eyes widened when the gears and mechanical inventions came into her view, excitement taking over her. "That's.. Actually pretty incredible," She spoke in a bit of awe, a certain grandeur filling her senses at the intricate parts. The hatchet she carried was layed rather nonchalantly on the desk beside the strewn items.
Yui took a step closer to the mannequin head, leaning down to inspect it. "The chain, that's what starts it?" She questioned, looking back towards Amanda, an eyebrow raised. She didn't touch the bear trap, not only in respect to the other's hard work but also to avoid her hand being blown off if she'd hit the wrong wire or gave it that wrong knock in just the right place.
The trap interested her beyond what words could describe, sure Yui had seen an endless amount of mechanisms in her time, but nothing quite like this. It filled her with that same enthusiasm she felt the first time she'd worked on her bike back home.
She turned her head back to the trap and it's many parts, right off the bat and her first twenty-second analysis, she could see a few things she'd personally change. Too many wires exposed, they could get snagged or cut, that was the biggest thing she'd noticed, though she didn't point it out just yet.
"Damn, you'd be willing?" Amanda tossed a glance sideways at Yui, the faintest smile on her lips. She forgot what it was like to feel relaxed, or an approximation of it. The other DID still have a hatchet. She snorted, "What? Incredible?" She guessed it was but... It was a death contraption. Amanda had kind of hoped it'd make her go running, never come into her company again.
It was odd, to see someone gush over the contraption that she'd recreated. The one that could have so swiftly ended her had she blundered for any longer. Learning how the trap worked made her feel incredibly stupid, because if she'd simply stayed seated... She could have been so much faster. Hindsight's 50/50, though.
"Yeah. It's mechanical, so once it disconnects the timer starts." Found that out the hard way, were the words that went unsaid. Unconsciously, she rubbed her mouth to brush away phantom pain that talking about the contraption brought her. Even looking at it sometimes made everything in her tense.
"This one isn't really mine." Hers were much more gruesome in nature. Not to say the after effect of a Reverse Bear Trap wouldn't be gruesome, but ones that tear you in half, force you to take hooks out of places on your body that you won't survive from, and point shotgun shells at your throat that make you move carefully... It was almost child's play.
Since you could survive it. It was a full minute, Amanda added acid to one of her traps. On top of that, changed the key.
"It was my first test." Amanda admitted quietly, without much thought, as if that made sense. Yui wouldn't know Jigsaw, unless she kept up with 'serial killers', which John wasn't. He just had an MO. People killed themselves, unless it was Amanda. Amanda was a killer, the Entity had rightly placed her. It seemed Yui had better things to do, anyway, on top of that. Maybe the blonde wouldn't even acknowledge it.
"Anything for a fan," Yui let out a soft chuckle, a thin smile across her features before her attention focused back on the trap. A fine piece of work, truly. It was more than impressive, especially with, from what she could tell, limited tools and building materials in the Realm.
First test? She was undeniable confused by this. The more she thought of the statement, the more she could assume. Poor thing must've went through so much.
She didn't know much more meaning behind the statement, however. Sure, back in Japan, maybe Yui would flip on the radio and listen to some true crime with her morning coffee, but this didn't at all seem familiar. She didn't prod though, the brunette had already given her hospitality and a view at her handy work, asking the depth of questions was a bit much to expect.
"Do you care...?" She broke the silence after a moment of studying the Reverse Bear Trap, motioning to the wrenches and various other tools with her hand. Her gaze and head turned back up to Amanda, questioningly.
Obviously she wanted a better look at the trap and to maybe even get a view at the parts. Though, maybe Amanda wasn't too keen on having people touch her inventions, which in all honesty, was fair enough.
Amanda rolled her eyes with a smile, it wasn't an ill-intentioned gesture. Just playful. She was grateful when Yui didn't question talk of tests, or Jigsaw. Eventually it'd come up but... Not as soon as Amanda expected. She was so used to playing cat-and-mouse with Detectives that knew nothing about her that she'd forgotten what it was like to just be a person to somebody most of the time.
The Entity "gifted" Amanda boxes, where Billy the Puppet sat and somewhere in the building there was another. Hopefully she'd never find out where. Gifts were nice, but not from a spider-demon that took you from your undeserved afterlife.
Amanda almost had a mind to find the puppet, and burn it, or destroy it in some way, fight her way into the void outside of the meat packing plant and leave it in the sorry void where the plant sat but... It would probably reappear, and there is only so much you can do to lessen grief, especially towards an inanimate object.
With the loss of silence, Amanda tilted her head. "No. You got somethin' to do to it?" She questioned, her arms crossing. Huh. That was a lot faster than she'd expected, it took her a few times of looking over the RBT to even reconstruct this one. John had kept a second one, probably to make her put someone in the same situation. "Just watch your fingers, there's a bunch of parts that pinch." She gestured towards the trap, for effect.
With a grin that had curled onto her lips, Yui nodded, reaching a hand foward to grab one of screwdrivers from the brunette's tools. She pulled the mannequin head to it's side, getting a better view of the wires.
She nodded to Amanda's warning of pinching parts, using a careful hand to neither pull the chain or get her fingers caught up in the gears. Yui knew that feeling all too well and it wasn't exactly pleasant.
Once she had gotten the general idea of the trap's mechanisms and many components, she looked back up at Amanda. "I think making them less," She paused a moment, searching her mind a moment for the right word. "Bulky, would make it easier to move. I'd also put the wires under the helmet, not on the top. They'd get caught too easily." Maybe she was being too cynical, perhaps even overbaring.
Yui raised an eyebrow, studying Amanda's face for any kind of reaction, not finding any discernible signs, she awaited some response.
The brunette, from what Yui could tell, seemed comfortable enough around her to show her the traps and tools, she assumed she'd be alright with criticism. Or at least, she'd hoped that would be. If she wasn't, well that was something she'd have to find out.
It was a sort of out of body experience to see someone touching the thing that'd changed her life. Not in a bad way, but probably not great either. She studied the blonde, and all of the little mannerisms she had. Yui carefully touching places, before moving her hand to get a better grip. It was odd to watch someone else work. She was the one building, while John instructed her.
Amanda wouldn't instruct Yui. She could tell that that wouldn't go down well.
"Bulky? I think it adds to the look." Amanda joked softly, trying to maintain a cool and collected composure through everything that was happening in front of her.
"True. It wasn't built to last, though. Can't imagine you should reuse these, they aren't exactly built-to-last. The original one, that I, uh, had... Was set for a minute timer once the chain was pulled." Maybe that would help Yui get a better sense of what the trap was, how it needed to be easy to remake but complicated enough not to have it broken by the person wearing it without it triggering. It was funny, though, to get criticism.
There was a brief passing thought, again, on what the woman before her would think about every other trap of Amanda's design. In some sick way, she was proud of them. She doubted the Entity would allow her to recreate them, though.
It would take too long, and on top of that it seemed most more intricate things that Amanda built disappeared pretty quickly from the realm.
