Whispers
Visions
Rage
Regret
It was a cycle that Rin had grown all too painfully aware of over her months in this this realm, as it repeated over snd over with each trial. Sometimes there were small variations. Sometimes, Rage would end early, and her Regret would drive her to let someone go. Sometimes she could see the rage coming, and make the situation just a little more advantageous for the others. But no matter what, it always fell into the same pattern.
Whispers
Visions
Rage
Regret
Rin stood over the bloodied body of her unfortunate victim. The rage had been stronger this time, and she ended up finishing the job herself. She supposed it was a mercy, compared to what happened to those put on the hooks. But it still felt wrong, Her katana was meant for one person, and she couldn't reach them. Rin dropped to her knees and a wailed, a mixture of anger at her situation and sadness for the situations of others escaping her lips. As her wails lowered into a dull sob, her mind returned to her first trial and the beginning of this maddening cycle.

Remembering the Oath she had made, Rin opened her eyes.
Fog curled around her body as she stood up and listened for the the heavy footsteps of her father, but nothing could be heard. There was something wrong.
This was not her house.
It looked the same, right down to the scratches on the wood, but it was not the same place she grew up in. The house where she would return after a long day at school to eat a hot meal. It was dead, and whatever energy had made it home was not there anymore.
And if this was not her house, then her father was not there, and she could not have her vengeance against him. It had all been for nothing.
Rin bellowed in rage, and as she did she felt something form in her hand. She looked down at it and saw her old family katana, the one her father had just used to tear through her body, resting in her palm. It was battered and broken and yet Rin knew, it was hers, and she would use it to serve justice to her father.
But as she stared at the cold metal, it began.
Whispers.
Whispers began swirling in her mind. Some she knew, her mother's crys for help, her father's insane laughter and even her own screams. But some were new, they were powerful and they we're telling her to leave the house, she listened and immediately after she stepped out, something caught her attention.
The sounds of machinery, of an old generator sputtering to life came sounding across her family's garden, and this bothered her, she knew this wasn't her house, but she still felt like it was her property. She marched her way towards the sound, simply intending to tell the person making the noise to leave.
She could not have prepared for what she saw when she got there.
Four people, dirty, bloodied and tired were working on a large generator, a generator that should not have been there. It wasn't a mobile generator, and she knew her family had never had one installed.
But the generator was quickly brushed aside as her attention was quickly focused on the four people, who had frozen in place when she walked up, as if they were waiting to see what she would do. Her hearts went out to them when she saw the fear and exaustion on their faces. Rin knew there pain, having just felt it minutes ago and she wanted to help.
But right as she was about to offer a hand,
Visions.
Suddenly, as her head began to pound and the whispers grew louder all the faces in front of her changed into that of her father's, smiling like he did when.he brought the sword down her arm.
Rin knew that something wasn't right here, that something was messing with her eyes, but all the same her blood began to boil.
Their wrenches and flashlights had changed into knives and guns. Suddenly one of the "guns" was shot at her face, and she was blinded. When her vision cleared, all of her "fathers" they were all gone, having dissappear across her family's estate.
Rin's mind was split, between what she knew and what she saw, but what she saw was too much and the whispers were so loud she could not think straight. Rin began to see red, she began to scream, her katana glinted in her hand and finally.
Rage.

10 minutes later, Rin's vision began to return to its normal color, but she could still see red, streaked across her body and sword. Pausing to breathe, she looked at the scene of carnage and devastation surrounding her. Lights and alarms were blaring above two open gates, and the flood lights of five generators illuminated everything, making it clear to her what terrible acts she had just committed.
Wooden scraps littered the garden crushing some of the smaller plants. sections of walls in her house were broken, destroyed by her during her rage fueled rampage. Blood was splattered across a couple of windows. Rin began to panic, she could barely remember what she had done during her blood rage, all she could do was hope no one had been .. killed.
She heard a gurgle behind her and turned around to see her worst nightmare realized. A man, older with grey hair was hanging from a hook, with a gash that could only be from her sword staining his chest. He was not her father, and she had hurt him.
Rin's heart dropped, and she began to run to him, but she was stopped, dead in her tracks as the giant leg of a spider shot out of the ground.
Rin was frozen in fear as she watched the man struggle with the giant spider for just a second, before it shot through his chest and he was dragged into the darkened skies above.
Rin didn't know what had just happened, but she knew that it was her fault, that she had done everything that caused the horrible scene before her. She dropped to her knees and began to cry.
Regret.

Pulling herself out of her memories, Rin looked at the body that layed before her, it was the same man she had killed during her first night trapped in this awful cycle.
She had so many faces repeat during her time here, and when she when she had her more lucid rages, she had learned about some of them. Some were cowards, running if she so much as breathed. Some were brave, but ultimately, fell to her blade, unable to fight her new immense power.
She had grown to admire the man before her. He was one who despite his age, had never shown any hesitation about helping those he worked with. She thought that maybe, like her, he was knew he was trapped in a cycle and he was trying his best to hold on to whatever pieces of humanity he could.
She shut his eyes and stood up, she needed to find somewhere to lay down. She didn't need sleep anymore, but she still felt tired and she knew there was only a few hours before the cycle began again.
