Lawrence heaved a small sigh — he had stayed out of the meat plant as much as possible. For it wasn’t worth fighting with Amanda, he couldn’t quite make himself face her. It stirred too many feelings… Feelings that the Doctor wasn’t quite ready to deal with.
It was hard, right? Amanda was someone like him, someone extremely similar to him and yet… Yet she was so much different. And so much harder to get through to. It always had to be a fight with her, she couldn’t accept that the most obvious answer was the easiest — Occam’s razor, he believed. The simplest explanation is usually the best. Still she wouldn’t listen.
What did she have to be upset about, though? He lost his foot because of her. That was surely why John never let the two work together, in the little overlap to when they were alive. And Amanda lost her life to John. Weren’t they on equal footing?
Now was his time to properly, and unbothered, explore the meat plant. He had found that Amanda, (and hopefully Dwight) was preoccupied outside of the building. His steps ran out the building.
And now he stalked the open rooms with no weapon in hand, no four survivors looking to remove an item lodged into their bodies.
It smells like shit in here, like death and decay. How could Amanda, and Adam put up with this so often? The fresh, crisp forest air wasn’t so bad. Even if it got old after a while, there was no change…
A room where all of Amanda’s belongings are, bunches of empty rooms, places that go unloved and unattended to.
Maybe it meant something, maybe it didn’t.
He found himself in the downstairs portion of the building, there he found a room that had it’s lights turned off.
Odd. He thought, Nothing else here has been off… Amanda seems neurotic to keep everything running. Though, I suppose if I had that kind of power I would too.
So he clicked the light on, and he felt his stomach drop.
There Adam was; laid in the bathtub. It was a sight that Lawrence hadn’t been privy to see. This was incorrect, the way to this bathroom wasn’t through a meat plant. It was through a house.
John showed him the way. A map hidden in his wallet; it detailed the way through the ‘catacombs’ to find his way back to Adam.
Though it had been far too late. The map had come in use, though. He was too stunned to have any snappy comment about how the Entity was missing a body in this room.
He stared, letting his eyes drag around the room. He has to lean back against the wall, to catch himself. He wasn’t chained up, he wasn’t chained up.
He had to remind himself of that, in spite of the overwhelming rush of feelings.
