The wet dirt of the red forest stuck to its claws as the Demogorgon laid closer to the earth. The three survivors they had found over the match were giving the beast enough enjoyment that even if they couldn’t catch them, it didn’t feel like a waste of their time. The fourth one remained incredibly elusive though to their claws, and as they stood up more and stalked closer towards the sound of those loud machines, they gave an inquisitive sniff. Something was off. Whatever was near didn’t smell like the other survivors, if only faintly. They followed it closely, hearing whispers as survivors met up with it and quickly ran off. Occasionally they would follow that survivor, give them a swipe with their claws, shred a generator and then be right back on the trail of that strange yet familiar smell.
They stalked lower once they found them again, climbing over a vault in a series of walls and then hearing the creek of a locker closing. Whatever was here was hiding. They would look for it once that loud thing was taken care of.
They slammed at the generator, letting out a quick snarl and then a content hiss when the thundering sounds struggled and lessened. The sparks of electricity made them shake a bit, before refocusing back onto the smell. Where was it coming from? Was it still in one of those lockers? The Demogorgon could wait for a bit. They circled around the various walls, keeping track of any noises. So far no other survivors were here, and this generator was secluded enough that the beast wouldn’t have to worry. Finally they went back to the lockers and almost sat patiently. They weren’t exactly sure where this smell was, but it had to be in one of those places.
